Mulching has little environmental impact. The ground remains undisturbed, leaving little debris. Leaving little debris behind eliminates burning and lowers the risk of fires. The lines cut are narrow and visibility down the line is left limited. Limited visibility helps in protecting wildlife.

Mulchers can cut just about any size of tree. They start by pushing down the tree and then the machine mulches the stump, finishing with the tree. Process time depends on the size of the tree, as the process with larger trees is slightly slower. Trees that are larger in size can be pre-logged before hand.
